Parker Rhodes Hickmotts Solicitors are seeking to appoint a Residential Conveyancing Assistant within our busy Residential Conveyancing Team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ recent experience working within Residential Conveyancing together with a Grade C GCSES (or above) in both English Language and Maths.

Training will be given for the post and the duties will include:-

  • Preparing and providing quotes;
  • Sending out Contract Packs;
  • Completing matters and producing the exchange and completion letters;
  • Preparing SDLT Forms and applying for searches;
  • Preparing Transfers/Contracts/Leases and other legal documents;
  • Preparing Completion Statements;
  • Dealing with Requisitions on Title;
  • Preparing AP1’s and the Land Registry documents;
  • Updating clients and agents

In addition to the general admin work involved in dealing with clients and third parties to an excellent standard.

Salary is dependent on experience.

Parker Rhodes Hickmotts Solicitors is looking to appoint an experienced solicitor to join their Immigration Department.

Parker Rhodes Hickmotts is a long-established firm based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire with around 50 employees. We have been undertaking immigration work for a many years and we are recommended in Chambers UK. Currently we have seven fee-earners and five support staff in the department.

The successful applicant will be expected to have decent breadth of experience across all areas of Asylum and Immigration casework, including Judicial Review.

Law Society Accreditation at Level 2 (Senior Caseworker) or Level 3 (Immigration Law Advanced) is essential – Supervisor Accreditation would be desirable.

Salary will depend on qualifications & experience, but is likely to be in excess of £30,000 for qualified supervisors.

Parker Rhodes Hickmotts is seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to be based at their office on Bradmarsh Business Park in Rotherham.

Parker Rhodes Hickmotts is a long-established firm and a total team of around 60 employees. The firm has been undertaking family work for a number of years. There are currently two fee earners and two support staff in the department.

The ideal candidate will be expected:

  • to undertake existing and new public and private children matters on behalf of children, parents and other relevant parties, in-line with the guidelines, policies and procedures detailed in the Firm’s Office Manual and develop links with Children’s Guardians for the South Yorkshire Court area;
  • to handle all client matters in a professional and efficient way, ensuring clients and those associated with the case are informed regularly of the current position. Attend clients, Court and Judicial Hearings as required;
  • to develop links with children’s guardians for the South Yorkshire Court area and other local solicitors to ensure that the firm is instructed in as many matters as possible;
  • to keep expenditure within budget limits, as agreed with clients or within the criteria as set by the Legal Aid Agency;
  • to achieve personal fee-earning and chargeable hours targets, which will be revised annually, and effectively contribute to the team performance targets;
  • to undertake supervision of other members of the family team – both fee earners and secretarial staff – including assisting with file reviews.
  • to undertake personal development within the criteria specified by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and associated professional bodies.
  • to maintain membership of the Children Panel.
  • to actively keep up-to-date with case law and changes in legislation which may affect areas of specialism. To speedily and effectively disseminate information and knowledge of legislative changes to the personnel involved within the Department;
  • to undertake all duties in-line with Professional Standards and the Firm’s policies and procedures;
  • be fully IT literate, have excellent organisational, advocacy and both written and oral skills.

This is a permanent position. The contracted hours are 9am to 5:15pm Monday to Friday.

Salary will be competitive (likely to be in the region of £40,000 to £50,000) and will be dependent on qualifications and experience. The Firm operates a performance-related bonus scheme.

The appointed candidate will be eligible for a £5,000 bonus on successful completion of their six month probation period.
