Role Overview:
As a Paralegal in the Wills, Trusts, and Probate department, you will play a key role in supporting our team with a range of legal services, focusing on wills, trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters. You will be responsible for taking instructions from clients for the preparation of wills, trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, and assisting with the administration of estates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking client instructions for the preparation of Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and recorded accurately.
- Drafting Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, under the supervision of the Head of Department.
- Assisting with the administration of estates, including liaising with clients, identifying assets, and obtaining probate.
- Conducting legal research and keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation affecting Wills, Trusts, and Probate.
- Preparing and managing documentation, correspondence, and files related to Wills, Trusts, and Probate matters.
- Maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive client information with the utmost care and professionalism.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or in a similar role within Wills, Trusts, and Probate.
- Experience in taking instructions from clients regarding Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Strong understanding of Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients.
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong IT skills and proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- A relevant legal qualification such as a Law Degree or Paralegal Diploma.
- Experience in dealing with probate matters.

Legal Aid Billing Assistant
21 hours per week

Parker Rhodes Hickmotts is seeking to recruit a Legal Aid Billing Assistant.
You will need to demonstrate the following key skills and abilities
- Strong analytic skills and ability to input and interpret complex data using IT systems;
- Experience in using a Case Management System, Accounts Management Software, Microsoft Office application suites e.g., Office 365, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel and a willingness to learn and use other software packages as required;
- The ability to monitor, record statistics and compile reports accurately and fully;
- An ability to submit Legal Aid bills including CCMS bills.

Part Time Immigration Secretary

Parker Rhodes Hickmotts are seeking to appoint a Legal Secretary to join our busy Immigration Department.
This role will be supporting fee earners in the department, duties include:-
- Secretarial and administrative duties, including digital audio typing;
- Opening and closing files;
- Booking interpreters and liaising with other third parties;
- Dealing with clients both over the telephone and face to face and subsequently creating precise file notes;
- Filing, photo-copying and other ad-hoc duties;
- Ad-hoc reception cover.
Salary will be dependent on experience.

Residential Conveyancing Executive
Parker Rhodes Hickmotts Solicitors are seeking to appoint an experienced Residential Conveyancing Executive within our busy Residential Conveyancing Team.
The ideal candidate will be expected to:
- Have a strong technical background of residential property work
- Handle all client matters in a professional, efficient and cost-effective way
- Have exceptional communication skills
- Ensure clients, and those associated with the case, are informed regularly of the current position
- Provide support, as directed, to the Head of the Department
- Have knowledge of IT and case management systems
- To achieve personal targets, which will be revised annually.
Previous experience in dealing with sales and purchase both registered and unregistered titles, Leasehold flats, Shared Ownership, Transfers of Equity and re-mortgages is preferential.
This is a permanent position with contracted hours being 9:00 am to 5:15 pm Monday to Friday.
